5 second delay when calling MS4W Apache

We have MapServer running in two different configurations on Windows.

Configuration 1 is based on a Typo3 installation of Apache 2.055 and PHP 5.0.5, and we have then added PostGIS and the matching version of MapServer. This works fast and well.

Configuration 2 is based on a MS4W installation of Apache 2.2.4 and PHP 5.2.3, and we have then added PostGIS and the matching version of MapServer. This gives 5 seconds timeout whenever a script output is not supplied with at header specifying the Content-Length. It is of course possible to specify Content-Length in our own PHP scripts, but the problem also exists in processes we have no control over, for instance MapServers requests for WMS images and WFS data.

We have tried changing a lot of settings in the Apache httpd.conf, but nothing has helped. Does anybody know a solution?

It seems the problem has to do with msxml having some sort of "timeout" between initiating different httprequest objects.

I have posted a more specific thread on this issue and will close this one (might reopen it later if needed).

I will give aoline full credit becuase of the time spent on this question - even if the answer may not have been the one I was looking for, it's nice to know that people care enough to try helping out.

Thanks
