How can I read the product information of a printer from LPT without windows drivers installed

I need to get the product information of the the printer which is connected to LPT1 port but there is no windows drivers installed for the printer.
in this case
What is the command that I can send through LPT1 that will make the Printer send its software and hardware model, Brand name and version information back to LPT1, so I can read it with my application ?

Sorry. Disreguard the link for Process Explorer. That is for something else.   : /

I should have said Everest Free

It did not work, everest free is just finding the installed drivers

Hmmmmm.... I need to check something out, nut in the meantime, can you tell what you are trying to do?
Do you need to ID a printer with no markings? Just trying to do it with software for whatever reason?

As I mentioned in my question I want to get the Printers firmware information or model number, Brand name and version number, for this I need to send the correct commands to printer, until than Printer can give me the firmware info. out But I do not know the correct commands.

I want to check if one of the programs on the UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD) will do it. It runs in DOS to find hardware.
I have not found a 'command' that will do it.

Have you tried getting the printer to print a test page when you turn it On? This will usually have the info you want.
With the printer Off, hold the FormFeed (pagefeed) button in, then press the Power button If that doesn't do it, try some other combinations
