If and how I can recover an unsaved word 2007 file from my PC??The file was always opened and saved from USB which is lost!!

Hello Expert,
I was working on a lengthy word file on my computer. I was saving and opening it only from a jump drive. I have misplaced the jump drive somewhere. I would like to know whether I could recover the file from my PC.
I read in a website that word files could be recovered from .tmp, .asd (auto recovery files) and .doc files. I suppose there would be no .doc files. But can it be recovered from the .tmp or .asd files.

If the .tmp or .asd files have been deleted, can we undelete them using a software and then recover the word file from it.
Please keep in mind that the document always had proper shut downs and my computer has never crashed.
(I would also like to know whether .asd and .tmp files are stored on RAM or what and how does it make a difference in recovering them and then opening them in word if possible at all)

We never got feedback. Even if the file was not recovered it doesn't mean those answers were incorrect.

The solution was absolutely accurate but it solved only part of my problem. I request Darr sincerely to give me some advice at least on how temp and asd files are created, deleted and preserved in word 07
I am really sorry Darr247. I wanted to delete the question as I have posted a similar question in my account and I though that this might create some problems with my account. just little worried. Am really sorry for my fault.
I liked your reply the most Darr247 and hence will accept it as a solution.
I also request you Darr to please give me replies to some of these questions I am listing now as these will give me a better understanding to me on creation, deletion and recovery of  temp and asd files of word 07.

1) are temp files and asd files saved on RAM always. If not then where are they stored otherwise and in what special cases?
2) Would also like to know whether temp files and asd files are completely deleted beyond recovery from the hard drive  if a file is saved only on a temporary storage device and unsaved on the hard drive.
3) If not then is it deleted once the word document is closed normally without saving it on the hard drive and if they are deleted,  can they be recovered using a data recovery tool and then opened in word?

will post this above question as a separate question also and you are welcome to answer it. SOrry about the misunderstood deletion on my part again.
