Atheros 5006EXS wireless adapter radio turned off

I have a Fujitsu Series A  laptop with Atheros Client Utility Wireless adapter. Adapter has stopped picking up my wireless network.  I have already checked and it is enabled but when I run the diagnostic it says radio is turned off, and the Utility will not allow me to turn the radio on.  There is no external wireless on/off switch on my computer, and I have updated the adapter driver.  none of the FN keys does the trick. What do I do?

Have you tried uninstalling the WLAN adapter driver completely and then reinstalling it from fresh? Or switching off the Atheros utility and using Windows Zero config to configure your WLAN?

Just some ideas to get you started, let me know if you've already tried them... :)

What is the OS that you are using? What application is "ACTUALLY" controlling the WLAN adapter and or connections?

I have gone through device manager to uninstall and reinstall.

I have tried unchecking the box that says Use windows to configure this wireless network.

i was afraid to try this but i did giggle with the card and it worked. thanks pete!
You're welcome! Minor things like that are generally safe, as long as you don't ram a screw driver in there or something... And try to steer clear of the gold connectors! :)
I have a Fujitsu A3130. It has a wireless on/off switch on the front edge of the computer. Why don't you check to see if your's has one?
