Moving WSUS 3.0 to a new server

Hi there,

As part of a re-shuffle, I need to move our WSUS 3.0 service to a new server. I want to avoid having to install from fresh and re-syncing, so I would like to migrate the services over. The existing WSUS server is the only one on the network with no down/upstream servers.

Please could someone offer some advice on the best way to do this? I seen info on migrating WSUS 2.0, and upgrading, but not just moving 3.0 to another server.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, this is not what I am after. The above article relates to moving the WSUS DB from the WID to a full SQL2005 install, on the same server.

I want to move the entire WSUS 3 service to another server.
