Server 2003 Enterprise only seeing 3.68GB of possible 8GB ram
i have recently upgraded a server with server 2000 advanced installed to server 2003 enterprise.
the server previous to upgrade had 8gb ram, and this was recognised within windows, now after the upgrade the system only see's 3.68gb of ram? yet on the bios the 8gb is shown!
can anyone advise why this may be the case? as i assumed that enterprise 2003 should see the 8gb without any tweaking!

Your boot file should be changed to:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdi sk(0)parti tion(1)\WI NDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)par tition(1)\ WINDOWS="W indows Server 2003, Enterprise" /noexecute=optout /fastdetect /PAE
[boot loader]

[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)par
as i said - add the /PAE switch !
