How to setup a new domain name on Windows 2003 server
I have my domain purchased from godaddy. I have installed windows 2003 server with all add-ons. At godaddy its asking me to put nameservers. How do i host the site at my home windows 2003 server.
any documentation out there.
can anyone alos coneptually clear the idea like.
win2003 is running on vmware free version. i have a dlink router where i guess i can do port forwarding.
i want to point only port 80 or any other besides that
get a domain name.
first install iis
then create a site on iis
create a pool...
etc...

wonderful. now how do i create subdomains like site.myhostname.com
you have to run your own internal DNS server and you need to forward request to the required internal webserver

After you do that you have to make sure your service provider allows port 80 through to your network.
