server - unix box
client - winxp .

being all  files at the original locations and want to cpoy them files to other location, is there any such optionsn support in FTP
sunnycoder

Errr .. I was enquiring about specific FTP server and client software, not the OS :)
General answer to your question is that there is no such option unless it is acceptable to get and put the files. If a specific server implementation supports some custom commands of its own, then thats a bonus ...

As you said in your original post
> have checked the all FTP all
so I am assuming that option has already been eliminated.

there is no specific tools i am using . it is just FTP command line.

in this case in nutshell you mean , there no such options available to copying the files at FTP prompt.
sunnycoder

Yes, thats what I mean.

You may do a work around by:

- getting the file to your side, then
- putting the file to the other remote dir
- deleting the locally downloaded copy

get /dir1/file
put /dir2/file
bye

rm file
