If a hard drive is showing any bad sectors at the hardware level, it will be failing soon and you need to be backing it up and replacing it, not shuffling data around on it. Corrupt clusters on the filesystem aren't a big deal, but bad sectors on a disk is a VERY good indication of an imminent total failure or at least more bad sectors.

I was wondering if someone knows a software that can scan a ntfs partition and show me where the bad blocks are, I'm trying to create a partition away from them.<br />

How to locate bad sectors.

Storage devices include any device used for storing and retrieving digital information.
