We've developed a chess game in .NET (C#). What happens is when you move a piece, it doesn't always respond right away. We've been looking at Flyordie.com and they seem to have worked out the a way to avoid this; though they are using Java.
We think the glitches are in linking fast computer speeds with slower speeds. It seems that on a lot of game sites there is a loading section that links the computers to operate at one speed. On our chess game there is no loading phase. Could this be causing the problems?
How could we either link everybody up to one speed when they enter site? How could we lower the faster bandwidth to match the lower when entering a game(Xbox live style) or test computer speeds when people accept or post games with a linking code that would tell them they don't have enough bandwidth. Flyordie.com links everybody together at their predetermined speed when they enter the lounge.
Not sure what the best way forward is; any help is appreciated.
