Well, I've got this: 
 
fileInput.read(&amp;byteVector[0], byteVector.size()); 
 
But the byte vector type is unsigned char, but the read function needs a char...

reinterpret_cast&amp;v[0] 
I didn't have the brackets... Thank you. :)
