CSRSS.EXE not found

Hi Guys
When ever I start my computer, this message comes up.

Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS|Config\csrss.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correclty, and try again. To search a file, click the Start button, and then click Search,

Can anyone help me in this?

Many thanks

jatinderbhui--You may have a virus.  See this reference http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/csrss.exe.html
The correct version of csrss.exe should be in C:\Windows\System32 not Config.
If you have antivirus and antispyware programs, run scans with them and delete what they recommend.  You might also run HiJackThis and post the log here.

jatinderbhui--If my post above does not fix the problem, please confirm that you are getting this message at Boot and you have NOT run a Search for csrss.exe nor any other file.  That will help taking further steps.  In the meantime do NOT click on Start|Search.

I have tried scanning for any spyware/virus. No success. I am getting this message eveytime I boot the system.

This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

As suggested earlier--You might also run HiJackThis and post the log here.
Using Antivirus and Antispyware programs often leaves pieces of the malware behind.

You're getting the "cannot find" error in startup which means that it's just the bad reg entry still calling for the dead file to startup.
When you remove that reg entry the error should go away. Somehow your scanner had removed the bad csrss.exe but left the reference in the registry.

The already suggested hijackthis scan, and fixing the relevant startup entry should remove the error. Just attach the hijackthis log here.

Hi Jatinder,
Glad to know it seems to be resolved.

In case you're not aware, you can award points to more than one experts by clicking the "Accept Multiple Solutions" button.

Jatinder--Yes, I am a little disappointed to not get at least an Assisted Solution award when I had proposed running HiJackThis in the very first reply to your question and then explained why that was desireable in my reply to your second post in which you seemed to feel running antivirus/antispyware was sufficient.
