Two different people sending email to one user get the following message. One user is sending from a private company email and the others is sending from gmail.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Look at the user within ADUC, check his primary email address and his smtp address if neither of them are johnk@abc.com then thats your problem.

johnk@abc.com is the primary

In that case you need to check your recipient filtering, if a user or domain is on the block list they will recieve a user unknown message.
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

The outside users can send to other inside users without any problems. The recipent filtering is set to the defaults. FYI: IMF is enabled?

You add the problem users to a whitelist in that case to override the IMF

Interesting - I've not done that before. That may help for the IP address of the sending server for the private email but what would be added for gmail? Seems like it comes from different IP addresses? Based on your comment, I will disable IMF and do more testing just so I can eliminate IMF as the problem.

Id say that was the way forward with this.

After turning off recipent and IMF filters, the sender now gets this message. Does it shed any light?

It appears to me that there should be something after the word "on" ? i.e.  "John K on" (see below)

I just found this post and will check mailbox size etc.

I'm running Exchange 5.5 SP4 on a Windows 2000 box Sp3.   One of my user's
mailbox was full to the point of prohibit send and receive.  Another user
sending her an e-mail received the undeliverable report, that stated the
following:

"The following recipient(s) could not be reached:  User Name on The
recipient has been deleted or has no e-mail address."

Is this a normal message if a recipient's mailbox is full? I would expect
this message if the actual mailbox had been deleted.

Policy issues warning but does not block send/receive.

The fact that the message has changed makes me think that IMF is involved in this, heve you restarted the exchange services since the change or rebooted the server

Here's the update. After getting 'real' information from the senders, I have determined that there is one sender only that gets the following error message. I have enabled logging and there domain does not show up in any of the logs i.e. it appears that it is not getting to our server. The other user that indicated it was also happning from their gmail account was incorrect and in fact it has been isolated to a single domain.

The sender is being hosted by mysuperpageshosting.com and I suggested that the sender's IT staff contact mysuperpageshosting.com to get support. Any other suggestions?

Again here is the message:

Wanted to confirm, this message happens when sending to anyone at this domain.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
