dragging and dropping between public folder creates copies

I have a problem using public folders

When and email is dragged and dropped between public folder folders it creates a copy of the email in the dropped folder and the original remains. How can I get it to move rather than copy with a left mouse drag and drop?

Is this the only way, can't it be change to do it without shift as a default?

You can setup public folder rules to move items to other folders if you like.  However they will have to be mail enabled.

Ok thanks, weird how it just moves them when they are in the users mailbox and draged left button to a public folder, it only seems to do the copy thing from public folder to public folder?

Yeah, I can see the confusion - but that is the default behaviour

Hi there

I have exatly the same issue and unfotuately due to the awkward nature of our users the 2 solutions identified above are not suitable.

Do you know if an expert in outlook and I suppose visual basic could write an add-in that would enable standard dragging and dropping ie: overwridding the need to hold down SHIFT?
