I have tried a couple of ways to set the value...
1.  brwWebBrowser.Document.Forms(0).Item("field_name").Value = "Test value"
2.  Set tmpObj = brwWebBrowser.Document.getElementById("field_name")
    tmpObj.Value = "Test value"

But they have not worked.
Here is a link to the TinyMCE API Documentation with a reference to how tinyMCE should work.

I appreciate your efforts, but from what I could see, none of these shows me how to set the value in the editor.

I re-read what you presented here and after further consideration I'd say that this can help me get there.  Sorry I didn't see it at first.  And thanks for taking the time to respond to my question.
