Setting up Offline Files for teachers with Laptops

I am trying to setup Offline Files on laptops for teachers.  Right now, it works great when they are at the school as planned.  When there is no network to connect to, they can access their offline files and they get no synchronization error, which is good.

Here is my problem:  When the teachers take the laptops home, or anywhere other than the school and connect to a network, they get a synchronization error and have trouble accessing their offline files.

How can I keep the error from popping up, and have the teachers still be able to access their files?

Go to My Computer, Click Tools, and Folder Options on one of the teachers laptops.
Then go to the Offline Folders Tab.

Check to see when they are configured to syncronize files.
UNCHECK Syncronize files when logging on.
CHECK Syncronize files when logging off.

See if that helps.  If not, please post the exact error message they are getting when logging onto a network at home.

Hope that helps!
