Wordpress: How to Remove the Meta Links in Sidebar

Can some one tell me how to remove the Meta Links in the sidebar that come with a new install of Wordpress?

I do not see that information in the database tables.  Perhaps it's being generated in the core code?

you can remove that from here line 56 - 69
