Sbs 2003 keeps unactivating

I manage an SBS 2003 server, the server license was provided by dell as were the extra CAL's so all are legitimate. However about once a month the CAL's would diapear and most of the users would be unable to get access to the server. I tracked this to an AV issue and after excluding C:\WINDOWS\system32\lls folderfrom scans the issue was resolved. However now every couple of months the server says it has not been activated, after a reboot it is fine. Any ideas? I can't see anything related to it is the log files and all the services look okay...

Thanks

No one has offered a solution.

The server says it is not activated and requires a reboot to belive it is. During this period it's licensing does not work. The server IS activated and licensed, something that holds that info is crashing. a call to microsoft will only have they re license it. That would not help. Once it is rebooted it may stay licensed and active for a month or more.

This question is of no value to anyone as there is no help or solution. I appreciate your comments tech you have helped me before.
"a call to microsoft will only have they re license it"

That is totally incorrect.  If you've paid for the license then you wouldn't have to pay again.  If the server is correctly licensed then Microsoft will help you resolve this problem.

I don't expect to pay for the license again, I mean they will just try and reactivate it. I need to know what is causing it to be happy activated and licensed one minute and then not licenesed the next. A reboot solves this. I want to be in a position where I don't have to reboot. It has been fine for the last three weeks. if / when it happens again I will repost a new question and try to put in more info.

As I said, you have solved issues of mine before, I just don't think this thread is of any value to anyone else.
Why do you think that Microsoft will just reactivate it and allow your problem to persist?  Its very likely that there is a corrupt file on your server.  Microsoft engineers have the tools to discover such a problem.
