RDC in an SBS 2003 environment not working on 1 client

Hi Experts,

Looking for a resolution on a strange problem I am having.  Neither RWW or RDC were working on one particular client PC so I tried the following.  The client PC is running XP SP2, Nod32 (no firewall) and some basic application.

1) checking firewall + turing it off (via GPO)
2) disjoining and rejoining the domain using the connectcomputer wizard
3) running sfc /scannow
4) checking users in the RDC group (and then trying to connect as each one, -all failed)

I cannot even telnet to port 3389 on this machine.  Incidently, when I tried a GPO results wizard I got access denied (even after rejoin). My next stage is to install wireshark and check out why the packets are not getting through but thought I would ask here first.

Could somebody please help?
