Adding users to GroupWise address book group doesn't work

We just upgraded to Novell GroupWise 7.0.3. This is a school district and we have multiple physical locations with different Zenworks profiles.

A user complains about not being able to add users to the groups in the Address Book from the GroupWise client. A user can create a group under their personal address book, then Right click on the group and go to Details, the user is able to add a user to the address selection window. Whenever he pushes OK to close the addition window, the added users do not appear in the group. Going back to Details of the group, the added users are not there.

I have logged in to the user's account from my own workstation with the same GroupWise client and was able to add users with out a problem. A user tried the same attempt from other locations within his school and came back with the same results.

I have ran GWCheck (Analyze/Fix) with Structure/Contents checked, which hasn't fixed the problem yet. I also just completed a Top Down rebuild of the GroupWise system after upgrading to service pack 3.

So, any other ideas on why this is happening?

Thanks,
Alex

It sounds like PEBKAC.

If you can do it using the user's login, the user should be able to do it using the user's login.

One final test would be for you to walk around the campi finding workstations to randomly log into as the user and see if it works for you.  If it doesn't, then it's not PEBKAC.  If it does, then it's a 1-D-10-T error, and you need to train your users better.

ASKER

I was able to repeat the problem myself with the user's credentials on different machines (remotely via VNC). The problem was recreated on 2 machines within the same physical location, but I couldn't recreate the problem from my personal workstation in a different physical location.
