ip dns entry ideas

Is there a way To take a VIP(or something similar) and use this as a entry for different servers etc locations. If I am in china and hit 1domain.com I hit if I am on usa and hit 1.domain.com I hot etc any ideas?

If you happened to have a list of geographic IP allocations you could use the View clause in BIND to create this kind of configuration.

It's not especially simple though, the first hurdle is figuring out which countries get which IP ranges. There are companies offering databases with that information, it's extremely hard to find free sources.
