HP Printer Software - cannot scan from an HP LaserJet 3050 All-In-One printer.

The scan option does not work - it generates the following error: "$MfgAbbrevName$ scanning - Sorry, could not find required user interface files. (Please reinstall scanning software.)".

I've un-installed the software and installed it again with no success. I was able to scan once after re-installation but the problem appeared again.

Using Office scan did not work - same error message.

My fix: uninstall HP software and only install the drivers then use a third party scanning s/w.

If you have office 2003 or adobe professional installed in your pc then you can try their own scanning solutions which can also be used to scan using an installed scanner in your pc...

of the above does not help, i suggest to test the scanner on another PC first !
