HP iPaq III Classic will not synch in active synch.  When the entire Outlook has been re-loaded works for a month.

One of my users has a Compaq (HP) iPaq III classic pda.  We reloaded his software and the latest version of active sync.  He is using Active Sync 4.5.  We can get it running if we hard reset the unit and reload Outlook on his PC (he is using Outlook 2007) and then he works for about a month and the unit ceases to synchronize.  Has anyone encountered this?  If so, are there fixes for it or is there another software we can use?  Is there a firmware revision?  I cannot find information from HP on the issues either.  Thanks for any help rendered.

well HP is no help with support or upgrades to the OS for that matter.

Try using 4.2

Uninstall 4.5 , REBOOT  and then install

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7269173a-28bf-4cac-a682-58d3233efb4c&DisplayLang=en

and then reboot

and then try syncing.

I will try that first...  I have to setup an appointment with my user in order to get access and then we will give it a try.

We are waiting to see if it occurs again.  Last time we reset it it lasted for a month or so then started wigging out again.  So in order to close this, I will accept this solution
