Printer IP addressing

I can browse into the printer using the DHCP assigned address.  When I try to turn DHCP off and assign a static address it will not keep the address.

Can you telnet to the printer? i think if you once connect you can type ? for the commands and / to view settings.  I would check but the newest printer I have to hand is a HP Laserjet 5!

I cannot telnet to the printer. I am able to browse into it.
I don't know why it's not working. I don't work on that particular model.
Be aware that once you change the IP your browser needs to be repointed to the new IP. Are you hitting the APPLY button after making the changes on the screen?

Issue has been resolved. I was not the technician who resolved the issue, so am unaware of what the steps were.
there are several issues I am dealing with right now:

1) I can not print to an HP 4250n-network printer from a imac computer.
2) the printer can not acquire a dhcp number from the 5505 asa-cisco firewall.
3) I can ping the printer from the imac, install the printer driver and,
4) lastly, the print job hangs in the queue, in an unsuccessful attempt to connect to the printer.
I am not sure which device might be at fault here. The  Firewall, the printer's embedded jetdirect or the imac apple computer?
I would very much like some help on these issues............thank you so much in advance guys and gals for all your help.
