Office Communicator 2007 Standard Edition Cannot synchronize with the corporate address book

I am running OCS in our DMZ - I have an Exchange 2007 environment, and ISA 2006 also.  The error i am getting is as follows:
Cannot synchronize with the corporate address list
This started after i moved from the LAN to the DMZ - we are needing to allow external communication to it, so i was forced to move it.  any ideas on what might be blocking it?  Upon logging in, it requires me to authenticate if my Outlook 2007 profile is set to connect with RPC/HTTP.

And all the needed firewall ports are open on the internal firewall? Port 443 for RPC/HTTP?
A good troubleshooting article is http://ucnoevil.blogspot.com/2008/03/address-book-chaos.html

that article includes what needed to be done - the service account was not set to "password never expires" so it threw off the services.  the password had to be reset in order for it to work.
