We have some users that need to receive a very small amount of emails. Is it possible to run exchange 2007 and postfix in the same domain? Kind of like if it cant find the receiptant in either the 2007 or postfix machine, pass it to the other?

In short no, not as you described.

However, you can route recipients across.

assume that the default domain for your postfix server is yourdomain.com
and that the exchange server is server.yourdomain.local

In postfix create a transport entry
servername.yourdomain.local         smtp:[servername.yourdomain.local]

Then create virtual usertable entries for each user on the exchange server.
user1@yourdomain.com          user1@servername.yourdomain.local]

Then setup the exchange server to use the postfix server as a "smart host".

users on exchange must be setup with both smtp email addresses.
the default address would be user1@yourdomain.com
and an additional address is user1@servername.yourdomain.local

hope this helps.
