My lotus notes client has stopped showing any form of notification when new mail arrives. I have changed all the settings in File>Preferences>User Preferences, Mail>General and I currently have check for new mail every 5 minutes and all notifications ticked. However none of them seem to do anything. How can I reset notes so it start showing these again?

Close down your notes client.  Edit the notes.ini file on your PC and remove the two lines which start "NewMailSeqNum"

Restart Notes

I removed all three lines in the file with this name and although I don't get a popup actually popping up, the notes window does flash when new mail arrives
