I have a flex application that uses e-mail as username.  If My username is John.Doe@Gmail.com I would simply like it to remember that after I type J .  I don't know how to do that with Flex applicaitons.  Any help would be great!

If you want to remember the full username:

//load
var soCookie:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("yourCookie");    loginemail.text = soCookie.data.userEmail;

//save
var soCookie:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("yourCookie");
soCookie.data.userEmail = loginemail.text;
soCookie.flush();
