How to download from tape to PC

I am having Sony Handycam model no.DCR-TRV355E bought 3 years back.  Now I would like to download the video caputured in tape into my PC.  I tried using connecting USB cable but I am able to dowloand only the pictures which were stored in Memory stick.  

Please help me how to dowload the videos from my Handycam into my PC.

That will explain how to use your USB cable to do it.

Otherwise Firewire is usually a tad bit better.

I am using Sony Mini DV model:DCR-HC51E.This model does not have any usb port to connect to the pc.
Request the experts to help me how to do it since the main question is related to this issue. If I have to purchase additional hardware/software ,then I would like incur minimum expenditure on it.
