How to enable log4j appenders to a apache mina tcp ip server?

I receive this message in the console when i try to run a tcp ip service developed with apache mina library and the service generate an error in the IoHandlerAdapter extended class:

log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger

I need to know the best way to enable an appender for the log4j library but specifically when using mina library.

Put log4j.xml or log4j.properties in your classpath

Ok, i quick read the manual but i have a question. I'm using Maven plugin with Netbeans. I would like to know what would be my classpath? the path where my application.jar is located?

Sorry for inconvenience i'm new to java i have strong programming knowledge with c# and .NET framework.

Thanks for the help. I found the class path in the target folder of the application.
