How to enable log4j appenders to a apache mina tcp ip server?

I receive this message in the console when i try to run a tcp ip service developed with apache mina library and the service generate an error in the IoHandlerAdapter extended class:

I need to know the best way to enable an appender for the log4j library but specifically when using mina library.

Put log4j.xml or log4j.properties in your classpath
