Why i cannot add a reference System.DirectoryServices to my web project?

Hi all,
i am trying to use LDAP to my project. but when i add reference to my web project, i keep getting an error:
A reference to System.DirectoryServices could not be added.
why is that? i can select the System.DirectoryServices from "Add reference" popup window and when i click "OK", THIS ERROR POPS UP.

do you know what's going on? do i need to install something?
i am using VS2005.

hi,
the link you provided are very good reference to how to use LDAP. But my current problem is i cannot add the reference to my web project. do i need to reinstall VS2005? cos my colleague can add it easily.

I guess that reïnstalling your visual studio will be the easiest solution.
If that also doesn't work, then you'll have to reïnstall your complete pc.

hi,
i will install vs2005 sp1 to see if it works, if not, have to reinstall vs2005.

hi,
i found the reason. that is because my colleague checked in bin folder to VSS. when i try to add a reference, the error comes up cos the bin folder is locked.
