Hi

I have installed McAfee AV on some new servers and need to add them to the appopriate containter within McAfee ePO.

However, we have just upgraded to ePO 4.0.0 and it's a lost different than the previous version!

Can someone tell me how I can do a search of the system to find these new servers and move them to the right container?

Thx!

Hello,

With EPO 4.0, it's possible to use Tags to sort your systems within the EPO System Tree. When you have your systems in the System Tree and these systems have an Agent installed, you will see that one of two Tags is applied: either Workstation or Server.

Now support you created a couple of groups within the system tree, for example

Site1
  Servers
  Workstations
Site2
  Servers
  Workstations

You could edit the group properties for Site1 and enter some sorting criteria based on a subnet. Then, edit the properties for Servers and apply the Server tag. Do the same for the other groups.

Then, go to: configuration -> Server -> System Tree Sorting. Select: Sort Systems on each Agent-to-server communication interval.

Finally, make sure the systems that you want to have automatically sorted have System Tree Sorting enabled. '

does this help? If you have any questions, please ask.

Hi

Thanks for the help, but not quite what I'm looking for :)

Basically, we have thousands of systems within the console and I am trying to locate about 5. With the old version of ePo (3.6 I think) you could just do a search and it would bring up the device and we could move it to the appropriate container....what I'm looking for is how to do this search with ePO 4.0? Surely, this sort of functionality has not been taken away?

The search function you are looking for is in the Dashboards section. There you can add a 'Quick System Search' dashboard. I think it is installed by default as one of six dashboards in ePO4. You can search on system name, IP address, MAC address or user name.
