Not able to burn .ISO
My Notebook COMPAQ 6710b's CD/DVD Writer has a weird problem.
Drive model is TSSTCorp CD/DVDW TS-L632D
I am able to burn MP3s or Data Disks with out any problem. But, it doesnt burn .ISO images.
First I thought it is my CD burner software problem, I was using ROXIO . ...
Then I tried with NERO, BlindWrite etc burner software, but no luck at all ...
Software says that it completed the burning and the CD gets ejected, but when I check the CD, it is blank , no Data inside.
Does anyone see similar issues?
Thanks in advance,
Manu

You've not got simulation mode switched on my mistake have you?
Also might be worth checking the firmware version of the drive, may be an update on HP/Compaqs website.

The failed CD can not be burnt again, though there is nothing inside ( When you look at the Cd with naked eyes, you can see it is just blank ) .
I used NERO's InfoTOOL to get the Firmware version , it is HH17 and I even got an update ( HH18 ) from the following site,
http://backfire.rpc1.org/tsstcorp/index.php?path=TS-L632D/
I am gonna try the new firmwire , does anyone has got any comments..
Thanks Chris and Dark

I assume you have checked these but is the media correct size (700mb 80min, 650mb 74min)?
Also have you tried different ISO images? As some are different and may also be faulty.
You could try making an ISO image from a good CD, and burning it for example...

Infact, neither the ISO image corrupted nor the CD size makes the problem.
I tried different CDs, Images, and even the burning software like I said earlier.
More over, I have burnt the copy of same ISO image from my second PC to a CD successfully. It is an UBUNTU OS Image only.
