A method to backup and restore on another server is via scripts, first backup the website, and copy the folder where the site is created at:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/7429a26d-45f0-41fe-bf45-a6e1d3be7ce1.mspx?mfr=true and http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/5e7e923c-b374-4872-a8f5-da85ec1315fd.mspx?mfr=true
And backup the metabase: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324277
Restore both on the remote server.

What do you mean in a remote server? Can you copy the application folder and create the website on the remote server via RDP?
Sorry if I don't get what you mean.
