Hello,

Looking for guidelines to connect to a database behind a firewall.

I have a hosted website via a virtual private server. I would like customers to login and enter their orders in a database behind our firewall. The database is a MS SQL 2005 database and the firewall has a working VPN tunnel.

Any help would be appreciated.

More than likely you need to use something like the Microsoft JDBC driver to connect the front-end application with your database.

You'll find that here:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=e22bc83b-32ff-4474-a44a-22b6ae2c4e17&displaylang=en

There's a decent how-to for configuring the back end here:
http://www.fusioncube.net/?p=59
(this is referencing a ColdFusion Database app, but the steps are similar for any front-end).

I'm curious... is there anything about my answer that DIDN'T solve your problem?
