Mailbox Quotas

We have recently implemented a global mailbox quote for all of our users.  I setup the quota on the mailbox Store level, but there are times I will need to be able to overwrite that quota on a per mailbox basis.  I'm assuming that I can do that in AD Users and Computers by setting the individual settings for each user.  Am I right in this?  If so how long will it take once I set the numbers?

Correct - you can overwrite it by editing the user's properties in Active Directory to increase the mailbox quota limit on a per-user basis.

I believe it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour for the changes to be detected by Exchange, because Exchange caches all this information from Active Directory. Restarting the Information Store service on the Exchange server will refresh this cache and get the changes discovered and updated quicker, but also take Exchange offline for a period of time.
