AutoCAD Fatal Error when saving

I have a user that gets a Fatal Error when he inserts a library part from a local library, and then tries to save the autocad drawing (this also happens when autocad autosaves). The error causes autocad to shut down. If he inserts the part from the network, and then saves he does not get the error. The user works at a remote location, which is why we have his library stored locally instead of having to insert all of the parts from our corporate network, which can awhile over a basic cable internet service. Thanks in advance for any input. He is using xp w/service pack 2.

Thanks again,
Brian

This is almost certainly because THAT user does not have all the autocad components, like libraries, installed on his local system -- so autocad is looking to REMOTE connections like the server to complete its libraries.  There is nothing intrinsically WRONG with this, a lot of autocad installations rely on libraries being gained from a server of some sort.  If you want to avoid this in the future, consider installing ALL autocad components locally on his system.  You could clone the setup from another user, but you will find that in the registry, autocad is looking to some other computer for the modular components.

The other way to solve this is to set a restore point, then run regedit.exe, and search the registry for all autocad entries, and MANUALLY change the paths to his local hard drive, than some network resource.
If the libraries were created with an older version (custom libraries) than the program you are now using that could be the problem.
Also, try calling up the file with Recovery and then do an Audit command when you have it open.  This should find all the format errors in the file.
