Im developing a chat application using java script for which i require a java script to draw the attention of the user when he receives a message having the  window in minimized state.
i prefer a color flash title bar  alert.

How about a CSS background image animated gif, 'change the CSS class' on the reciept of a message event to use the flashing one when required, and back to the static when the user interacts.
