Symentic Backup Exec 12 with hp tape changer

Hi
I am going to install  Symantec Backup exec 12 on a windows 2003 server and i am going to use an hp tape changer as my backup device i had a backup to disc folder setup before but i have never setup a tape changer. I need to get a detailed steps of setting up a tape changer with Symentic Backup Exec 12

By "tape changer" do you mean an autoloader or a library? Just be aware that if its a library with more than one drive then you'll need the Tape Library Option (if it has only one backup drive but many slots then you're fine)

In either case Windows should pick the device up (maybe after the installation of some drivers) and present it to BackupExec

At this point you can perform backups to it as you do to the disk folder

Clever stuff with the tape rotation can be done via a wizard

if its an autoloader then defiitely nothing more than base product required

Wizards will guide you through most of it once you have the drivers installed so BE can see the device

Its worth downloading and installing the latest version of Library and Tape Tools (LTT) from HP to check over the drive and make sure its running the latest firmware etc
