Windows Cannot Log you on because profile cannot be loaded.

We updated our Citrix server to SP4 with no issues. When users try to connect, they get an error about the profile cannot be loaded.... See attached file for exact error. I think there is an easy fix, but, thought I'd ask anyway

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are your profiles on a share or on the server itself?  This can happen if the user doesn't have permission for the share, or if the drive is running out of space.

The profiles are on the server itself..

I seem to have found my own answer.. Turns out, I may have deleted the "default user" folder from c:\documents and settings.. It was in the recycle bin, so, luckily I restored it... I wonder how I would have solved this if I emptied the trash!

Glad you got it.  If you had accidently deleted it you can just take a good working profile and make it the default.

It still seems like it should have loaded the existing profiles.  It should only go to the default if it doesn't find the old ones.  I wonder if instead of loading the old profiles if it is creating new ones.  If it does that it will usually create a new user folder for the existing.  Something like username.domain.000
