working with webserv soap and query

Hello guys

I created a webserv with soap, I added in datamodule a query with this string:

SELECT * FROM CPACLIE

In my cliente program I use ClientDataSet1 to retrieve me only 10 rows.

My table cpaclie has 30.000 rows.
I have a doubt about my query in my webserv

When I require 10 rows, that is, in in commandtext of my ClientDataSet1 I have:

SELECT * FROM CPACLIE
WHERE STATE=1

My query in WebServ will open a full adoquery with 30.000 rows and after opening it will give me my rows from it or the adoquery in my webserv will open my query with 10 rows as I required in the client?

I hope I could explain
thanks

hi, I did some webserver programming but not with SOAP. I used SOAP only for fun sometime ago but from what I remember you can pass parameters from client to server so you can use it to invoke apropriate sql command

Yeah, I have a webserver with ado connected to my MS SQL 2005 and my application uses these components SoapConnection1

Have you ever worked with webserver? Do you know any link or book that teaches how to work correctly with webserver and application ?

thanks
