Hi, simple enough. My boss received an e-mail yesterday with a .jpg attachment. The attachment does not appear in Outlook, but does show up on his blackberry, and is also visible in OWA. He forwarded the message to me, and the symptoms are the same. We are running Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2007. How can I make it so that a benign attachment such as this is not removed without any option to show it?

Thanks.

There's no way to do it without editing the registry?

Not that I can find; what I tend to do is have users change the file extension to ".txt" before sending any attachments.

I did find some 3rd party tools you may want to try; looks harmless, but may want to test before using in production. (Outlook 2003/2007 Addin; see: http://www.thecodeking.co.uk/2008/03/outlookunlocker-unlock-blocked.html)

And, I found the Microsoft article describing the same scenario as the 2 URLs I previously posted:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829982

I'm sorry...I know it's frustrating...I agree; WE should have the choice.

Regards.

Here's a more descriptive MS article on what specifically is blocked:

Thanks for your help. I've advised him to use OWA in this situation, since it seems to be fairly unusual. Only appears to happen when it's an embedded JPG, attached ones come through fine.
