After installing the HP Photosmart printer, I am able to connect to the printer via the wireless app, and do things like start a cleaning job and print a test page. However, if I try to print from another app, such as safari, word, excel, etc. I get this error a few seconds after it tries to process the print job.:

the process photosmart terminated unexpecedly at signal 10

btw, it is connecting through an airport extreme router. My intention is to eventually have it connected to two different printers in two different locations.

how did you set up your printer? using the software that it came with?

did you try the following?
----------
-remove the printer from your mac;
-get the ip address of the printer;
-add a new printer by using the ip address, let mac to select a native driver;
if not, select a similar one to try; (or you can download the driver for mac from internet.)
-try to print & test
-----------

hope it helps.

I tried adding the printer by IP however, when it comes up, it chooses a random driver so i just select the HP driver that I need. I will try it with the random driver to see if that helps. Thanks. In the mean time, do you have any other suggestions?

when you added it, did you select 'hp jetdirect - socket'? then you can select the right driver at the bottom.
please check the attached screen shot.
normally it can be recognized by mac automatically after you enter the ip address of your hp photosmart printer.

and if it does not work, you can go to the hp.com to download the right driver of your printer for mac.

hope it helps.
