We need a new telephone system. We do not want a full VoIP hosted system, we want a PBX control unit onsite that has the ability to support IP phone (typically 1 or 2). The premises will require 2 extensions initially and require a growth to around 5 extensions. This is on top on the IP phone.
Basically, the way we want it tp operate is simple, we want the ability to have 2 lines. We currently have 1 telephone number and when the inbound call is made we want all extensions to flash/ring to indicate an incoming call, including the IP phone assuming it is connected to a live ADSL line.
Basic call transfer features will be required as well as the ability to plug in a manual answer phone. The IP phone will be at an employee home for out of hours calls etc.
We have been quoted the following system

4 channel 64k ISDN
2 Digital Extension circuits
5 Analogue Extension Circuits
4 Channel MGI / VoIP
In addition the quote includes
2 x 7 button display keyphones
1 x 7 button display IP keyphones
The price of the quote supplied/fitted/commissioning/training/1st years maintenance is £1,380 (UKP)
(we are doing the cabling inhouse to keep costs down)
We do not have much telephony experience in house but technical experience is very high. My questions are
1. Is the price competative?
2. Is the product any good?
3. how straight forward is the full installation? includes arranging for line installation etc.
I understand that hosted VoIP PBX systems are available but this is NOT something we are considering or would consider at this time.
