I have just upgraded (new machine) to Office 2007 from 2003.  In my 2003 Excel program I would send a work book to e-mail from the shortcut button (send to email).  It would open a new message and attach the workbook right away.    With my new 2007,  the button is still there but when you click it the new message appears, with the attachment, but when you click send it hangs for 30-40 seconds before it sends it.  Then the workbook I sent is minimized on the task bar and will not come up.   I have to close it (right click) and reopen it.    Files sent to e-mail via the right click 'sent to' command act the same way.  However if you attach a file within the message there is no hang up.   I checked and I have all the patches I can find.  Including sp1.

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall Outlook 2007 or first have you tried Detect and Repair?  I would have said it is your AV causing the problem, but based on what you described sound like an install problem.

Humm.  I don't have install media. It was installed from the vendor,   Will I need it to do a detect and repair?

Absolutely not, just go to the Help dropdown menu and it will be an option there.

Well it seamed to work for a while.  Now it is back doing the same thing.   It appears to hang up while syncing with exchange.  At least the icon on the taskbar stays on.  However it is sending the message while still appearing to be 'hung up' on the screen.
