Backup Exec 12 reports AOFO: Initialization failure ..... "Out of Memory"
Hi,
I am running Backup Exec 12 on my media server (window server 2003 SP2 with latest updates). I am using the Advanced Open File option. When backing up my Exchange 2007 server, I get
AOFO: Initialization failure on: "\\exchange2007.city.castl egar.bc.ca \C:". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
Snapshot provider reports "Out of memory".
I called Veritas support and they said to apply the fixes described in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;887827 . They said to apply the fix to my media server, not my Exchange server. I have a couple of questions.
1. Should I be applying this fix to both my media and exchange servers?
2. I have subsequently reviewed many articles from Microsoft related to this problem all with a link to a different patch, hotfix, rollup, etc. Is there not a single, downloadable file that cumulates all of the latest and greatest VSS patches/hotfixes?
If there is something else that I need to know to resolve this issue, any information would be appreciated.
Thank you and much appreciated

Thanks for the comment. I have recently defragged my media and exchange servers.

I applied the following rollups and hotfixes to address VSS errors. I'll see if backups run successfully this weekend.
