I have a 6509 with a SUP 2 module.  I need to turn on lldp. According to a "Cisco rep" at a sofware company indicated it was fully supported.  By default it is turen off.  I searched to the 6509 to turn it on and was unsuccesful.  I want to know is it really supported?  How do ou turn it on.

We just moved to VOIP phones.  By turning it on affect the switch?

Thanks

What version CatOS/IOS are you running on the 6509? In hybrid or in Native mode?
If you are in Native IOS mode, simply enable LLDP globally
switch(config)#lldp run

If you need to enable per-interface:
interface fast 6/12
lldp transmit
lldp receive
