How's this?
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/recipes/vbmp3header.aspx

You could modify the code to do what you want I guess.  I don't know if it DotNet runs on a Mac or not.
Check out the Mono project if there is no other way. I think it will allow it to run on Mac also

Your question is located in "Web development". Are you looking for a web based solution or just an application to run on your Mac?

Here is a php solution: http://getid3.sourceforge.net/
If it's just an application, have a look here: http://mactags.blogspot.com/

Hope this helps

ooops...Yes i am looking for a application to run on my mac. The end all information will be used in a web based application. I am having a problem finding a utility that will extract the ID3 info and put it into a file format that excel or a DB can read. I found alot of programs on the mactags.blogspot that renames files. Do you know of one that does what i want it to do?

Thanks!

I don't object, but maybe you should be so kind as to share your info with other people who might look for a solution.

I never figured out a solution that i was looking for. The amount of mp3s turned out to not be a lot so we just entered them into the DB by hand.
