Can we add online a DAE enclosure on a running CX500 and how? Is the CX500 wil automatically detect the disks or there are some work to do on the navisphere side?

You can add a new DAE and discs on-line and completely non-disruptively. The new discs will show up in Navisphere within about 3 minutes of the new rack being connected.

EMC installation is included in the purchase price, but just so you understand the process, you rack the new discs, set the cabinet ID (which must be unique on each back-end loop), power up the new cabinet, then connect one LCC cable to the upstream LCC on the right-hand side, then same again for the left-hand side. Done. Last time I installed a new DAE, it took me 45 minutes from arriving on-site to setting it up, creating new RAID groups and taking my leave.

The only possible issue is that you may need a FLARE code update if your array is down-level and you purchase new 750GB or 1TB drives. The FLARE update is also non-disruptive but is best done at a quiet time of day.
