If you want the server to act as a router, then you can connect your DSL connection over Ethernet to a second NIC card. What you must ensure you correctly configure is two distinct subnets on each NIC, otherwise the server will be unable to route traffic from the LAN to the DSL line. For example, if you have 192.168.1.x with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 on the LAN, you could use 192.168.2.x 255.255.255.0 for the WAN NIC. You must ensure your router AND the NIC in the server is statically configured for the 192.168.2.x subnet.

You will also need to install Routing and Remote Access to this server. This can be done through Add/Remove Windows Components in Add/Remove Programs. Once RRAS is installed, you must open the RRAS console and configure the RRAS server to act as a Router. This will get requests between the LAN and WAN networks flowing correctly.
